Our reason for being
[Vision Statement Placeholder — e.g. 'To know Christ and make Him known in Midrand and beyond.']
This is the sentence that shapes everything we do — our Sunday gatherings, our community groups, and the way we serve our city.
Over 40 Years in Midrand
The Crossing has been part of this community for more than four decades. What started as a small gathering has grown into a multi-generational church that continues to welcome new families and individuals every week.
In the [founding decade placeholder], a small group began meeting in Midrand with a simple vision. Over the following decades, [key growth moment placeholder]. Today, from our single campus, we welcome hundreds of people every Sunday across multiple services. [Current campus milestone placeholder].
We are part of NCMI — a global family of churches that shares our values and sharpens our mission.

Our Global Family
Part of NCMI
NCMI — New Covenant Ministries International — is a global family of churches linked by shared values and a common mission. We are not a denomination: there is no central hierarchy that governs how we run Sunday services or make local decisions. Instead, NCMI churches are connected through genuine relationship, mutual accountability, and a shared commitment to planting and strengthening churches around the world.
In practice, this means The Crossing benefits from a network of like-minded pastors, joint training events, and cross-church partnerships — while remaining fully rooted in Midrand.
Common Questions
Answers to the things people most often ask before they visit for the first time.
Is The Crossing a denomination?
No. We are a non-denominational church, which means we are not governed by or affiliated with any denominational body. We hold to the core beliefs of historic Christianity and are part of the NCMI family of churches through relationship, not denomination. How big is the church?
We have one campus in Midrand with multiple Sunday services. [Attendance figure placeholder — church team to supply.] We are large enough to have a wide range of programmes and ministries, and small enough that you will be known by name. What is the style of worship?
Our Sunday services include contemporary music, a practical Bible-based message, and space for prayer. Services typically run [service length placeholder — e.g. approximately 75 minutes]. Dress is relaxed — come as you are. What happens with my kids on a Sunday?
We have dedicated age-appropriate programmes for children and students running at the same time as the main service. Every child is checked in safely and collected by a parent or guardian after the service. Find out more on our Kids & Students page.Kids & Students pageHow do I get more involved?
A good first step is our Membership Track — a short series of sessions that helps you understand who we are and find where you fit. You can also join a small group or explore serving on a team.Membership TrackDo I need to be a Christian to come?
Not at all. If you are curious, exploring, or returning to faith after time away, you are welcome here. There is no pressure and no expectation — just an open door.
